At the Vítkovice stadium there was a race called „Kontinentální pohár nanečisto“, where the teams from four regions competed in the same competition model in which the Continental Cup will be held.


At the Městský stadion in Vítkovice there was a qualification race for the “Ostrava supports continents” project. Pupils and students from elementary and high schools endeavoured to advance into the Superfinals that will take place in the Continental Cup pre-program.



On Tuesday, June 5, the official exhibition for the Continental Cup called IAAF Heritage Collection was officially opened at the New Karolina Forum in Ostrava. The exhibition maps not only the history of the cup itself, but also offers a number of valuable exhibits.


Some three months to go, IAAF Continental Cup promotion campaign is gaining momentum. Draging the audience into the stands is one of key aspects for any successful event. Official hashtag “BeThere” (in Czech #BuduUToho) was developed by the LOC and dedicated promotion video has been released with multitalented Ben Cristovao starring as a guy who drives people of various professions and most importantly youth to the Městský stadion in Ostrava.


The IAAF Heritage World / Continental Cup - 1977 To 2018 - Exhibition will open in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on Tuesday 5 June. Following the opening, the exhibition will be open seven days a week from 1000-2000hrs at the Forum Nova Karolina Shopping Centre in the centre of Ostrava and will run for three months until the final day of the IAAF Continental Cup Ostrava 2018 on 9 September.

More than 500 elementary and secondary school children from 29 schools in the Czech Republic's Moravian-Silesian region and Ostrava took part in the “Ostrava supports continents” road show on Thursday (March 22). The project, “Ostrava supports continents”, is connected to IAAF Continental Cup, which will take place in Ostrava on 8-9 September as the biggest athletic event this year in the Czech Republic.


During the Olympic Festival 2018 in Ostrava, the promotion of the IAAF Continental Cup in athletics which is taking place on 8th and 9th September 2018 became very popular with visitors  to Ostravar Arena. The promotional stall was the most attractive place to visit at this event. 


The Continental Cup which will be held in Ostrava in September 2018 will have new competition format. It was agreed on by the IAAF Council at their meeting in Monaco last weekend. What specific changes are we talking about?


The calendar of athletic events for the year next year in Czech Republic is clearly dominated by IAAF Continental Cup, which will take place in Ostrava on 8th and 9th September, 2018. However, the athletic will  be 'alive' in the north part of Moravia throughout the whole year - thanks to the project "Ostrava supports continents" lead by Czech Athletic Federation together with the City of Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region.


Couple of days ago she enjoyed the atmosphere at the IAAF World Championships in London. “You feel tingling and goose bumps when the stadium pushes athletes forward or when you hear national anthem. You cannot experience the same in front of TV,” says Táňa Netoličková.


These days, London hosts the highlight of this year’s athletic season. Part of the athletic stars that shine at the IAAF World Championships at the Olympic stadium in the British metropolis will arrive in Ostrava the next autumn. What’s the reason? The City stadium Vítkovice will welcome the Continental Cup 2018. The tickets for this unique event will go on sale at Ticketportal. 


The best athletes of all continents will meet in Ostrava next year - to compete in IAAF Continental Cup from 8th to 9th September in City Stadium. The ticket sale for this major athletic event started on Monday August 7th, 2017.


The best athletes from all around the world will arrive to Ostrava next year in September.
